To follow the high impact tutoring model, you will work at least 3 days a week, with 1-3 students for 30 minutes at a time.
This work will support K-5 students with their foundational literacy skills.
Tutors will focus on the five pillars of reading:
phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension.
A background in education is not required, because you will be supported by a NCEC learning coach who will provide training, professional development, and support throughout the school year.
You will become an employee of Montgomery Co.
Schools and as such will be paid hourly.
All corps members (CMs) will participate in required professional learning during the school year.
A paid initial training will be required upon employment start date with the opportunity to opt into monthly professional development.
Additionally, your NCEC Learning Coach will offer the opportunity for coaching calls and school-based site visits.
Exact dates and times for any learning and onboarding will be shared once you have been hired.
However, the hope is to hire all tutors by mid-December and start supporting students in January of 2024.
