GS-07:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-06 grade level. Successful completion of 1 year of graduate level education (18 semester/27 quarter hours), courses are History of archeology; archeology of a major geographical area such as North America or Africa; regional archeology, archeological cultures, or sites in a specific part or portion of a major geographical area; theory and methods of archeology; archeological field school. -OR A combination of education and experience listed above. Examples of specialized experience include:
Monitoring archaeological projects to ensure sufficiency of on-site surveying and recording; Preparing reports, such as cultural resource inventories, that document project's environmental and cultural backgrounds, methodologies, and findings; Identifying and recording on maps or aerial photographs the exact locations and orientations of artifacts found. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
